Our story
Why we built DayWell.
Hi, I'm Tom.
My wife Cara and I have three young children, all under the age of eight. Two of them have additional needs, which means family life is incredibly rewarding — but also incredibly busy.
Like many families, our days revolve around appointments, school events, birthdays, forms, medication, bills, shopping, meal planning and trying to remember a hundred different little things. On top of that, our children are in three different classes across two schools, each with their own calendars, newsletters, trips and things they need to take in.
It often felt like the mental load of simply remembering everything was exhausting.
We tried using different apps to help. One for calendars. Another for documents. A shopping list app. Notes on our phones. Email reminders. Paper calendars on the fridge.
The problem wasn't that these apps were bad — it was that none of them worked together.
My wife and I constantly found ourselves asking:
- "Did you add that appointment?"
- "Where's that passport?"
- "Who's picking up the prescription?"
- "Have we paid that bill?"
We were using two or three different apps, none of them stayed in sync, and it became surprisingly difficult to stay organised as a family.
That's why I built DayWell.
DayWell isn't designed to replace every app you use. It's designed to bring together the things that matter most to running a family: your important documents, your events, your reminders, your shopping, your household and your plans — all in one secure place that the whole family can access.
Our goal is simple: to reduce the mental load of family life, so you spend less time trying to remember everything and more time enjoying the moments that matter.
